1/7/2020 4 Comments Reset and RenewAs I sat on my couch on a chilly windy morning, I began to write this post . Inspired to write, I sat myself down with a cup of tea and began. Some of us are coming off a very busy holiday season, and some of us were met with a very quiet season. Regardless, the holiday time is tricky and can leave us feeling full of joy, abundance, and love, but also anxious, disconnected, and lonely. Most of us may have fallen out of sync from our normal routines. Following this abundant season, we are immediately inspired and/or expected to move forward with intentions, goals, routines, and resolutions. This is certainly a big shift and we often time go at it like a bull in a china shop. I want to remind you that you are enough, and to step back from any goals, intentions, and routines you may have set for yourself this year, give yourself a little bit of space. I am not saying to give up or stop by any means, but we place an extensive amount of pressure on ourselves and the collective energy is forward moving and quick- this affects us mentally, physically, and emotionally and will take its toll.
After meeting with some very inspiring peers over this past weekend, I myself was lit up with new ideas and with them came the urge to accomplish, do, push. I couldn’t stop and started to feel as though I wasn’t and couldn’t possibly get everything done…. I was feeling over whelmed, tired, off balance, and out of center. Underneath all of this noise, I am very clear on what I am calling in this year. What is for me right now, and what my truth is. With the intense forward moving energy of this month, we must take advantage of it in a supportive and nourishing way. Running ourselves into the ground working without time for spirituality, self-care, rest, and connection is by no means going to move us forward. So with the theme of reset and renewal in the forefront of our minds, reset and renew the connection you have with your true self and do your very best to lock it in, perhaps reinvent or refresh some of the existing practices you have so they can support you and the goals that you have set. It’s important to stay connected to our home base, our center, our true self. It is important to remain in balance, trusting that when we can listen to our inner voices, and act as our best selves, that the universe will deliver. When you slip onto a mind set of “do, go, push” and start to lose sight of your truth, invite yourself back to center, turn on a timer, close your eyes, and breath. Use the breath as a tool to create space. You will return with clarity and connection. Believe in the power of your breath. As I laid out my ground work for my 2020 visions, I not only very clearing wrote them down, I backed them with Mantra, or in Sanskrit, we call this sankalpa. Sankalpameans an intention formed by the heart and mind -- a solemn vow, determination, or will. In practical terms a Sankalpameans a one-pointed resolve to focus both psychologically and philosophically on a specific goal- it’s different because It is in the present and it is positive. For my sankalpa, I chose three words that support what I am working towards this year. These are words that I come back to when I get lost in a tail spin of doing and need to come back to feeling, need to come back to my center, need to come back to my truth. Sometimes I come back to part of this, sometimes the whole thing so far. My Sankalpa for 2020: I am love. I am grounded. I am enough. It can also be common that we feel we haven’t gotten anywhere. In these moments, when you feel stuck, discouraged, or in slow motion, come back to gratitude. The fact that you can breathe, and your heart beats is a miracle in itself for which we should be grateful for. Find gratitude for all that are and how far you have come. You do so much every single day, you are amazing, you are supported, and you have everything you could possibly need inside of you. Remind yourself that it is just the beginning of this part of your journey, you are more than enough, and the truth is that at the center of everything, when the dust settles, when we connect, you are full of light, you are made of love, and you are more than okay and always will be. You are so much more than enough, and you deserve everything you dream of. One thing I will be working on this year this blog. This blog will serve as an outlet for expansion on class themes, reflections, thoughts on day to day life, and experiences. In addition, I will be sharing yoga practices, recipes, and wellness tips and tricks. My intention is expression, and by expressing and sharing these downloads of information, my hope is to inspire, support, and help you on your journey towards a happy, healthy, and whole self. I am going to leave you with this last thought. Stay connected to your center, honor your heart, and keep your soul warm. ~On these chilly winter days, I hope you stay connected to your heart and I stay connected and see the light~ With Love Always, Kristen

Wonderful blog!!! I get so busy with wanting to help everyone else that sitting quietly to identify my intention does not make the list. After reading this post, my goal is to name one intention. Thank you

We all get so busy! When you make your to do list or plan your day, taking a few moments in the morning to identify what you are calling in, where you are going, and what needs to happen, can make all the difference in your day and mind set. Love you Mummy!
